The difference among tissue papers raw materials pure wood pulp, raw pulp and raw wood pulp

When you buy a roll of tissue paper, will you pay more attention to its material? Generally, main raw materials for household tissue paper are wood pulp, straw pulp and recycled pulp. However, some producers usually do not print the words like grass pulp and recycled pulp on the packaging bag, but choose to use some deceptive names, for example, raw wood pulp, pure wood pulp, raw pulp, etc. These are very close names, and it seems that there is the only one-word difference. In fact, their real meanings are totally different.

1. Raw wood pulp
Raw wood pulp is a kind of raw pulps, and its source is wood pulp, that is, it is made only from wood chips for cooking and extracting fibers. It is simply made from wood chips directly without use.
Raw wood pulp can be made into the highest quality of roll paper. Because it is the pulp of completely natural wood, the price is usually higher.

2. Raw pulp
Raw pulp refers to the pulp obtained from natural plant fibers. It refers to pure raw fiber. It can be divided into wood pulp, straw pulp, sugar cane pulp, cotton pulp, bamboo pulp, reed pulp, etc. according to its different sources. To be frankly speaking, it is usually straw pulp or a mixture of straw pulp and wood pulp.

3. Pure wood pulp
Pure wood pulp is a very confusing name for us. It emphasizes that the pulp material comes from wood with mathematical certainty. But the name only emphasizes that the ingredient is pure wood fiber. Then we can imagine that the pulp is probably a recycled pulp made from wood pulp paper.

The fibers are different in the different materials, which can affect the use experience of roll paper. If you understand the differences between common names on the product packaging bag and instructions, you will not be confused when you choose.

In general, raw wood pulp has about 80% or more of wood fiber content, so the roll paper made of it is uniform and fine, and the functional pharmaceutical ingredients added to the pulp are less. The paper is good for and your health.

Raw wood pulp is mainly divided into two types: hardwood pulp and softwood pulp. Hardwood pulp is softer with shorter fibers, which can get the paper to have a better feel but lower strength. The fiber of softwood pulp is longer and can enhance the flexibility of the paper. The high-quality roll paper is mixed with two wood pulps to make the paper flexible and comfortable.

Pure wood pulp may be mixed with more recycled materials. In the production process of the recycled pulp, the ink is first removed and then the pulp is bleached. After repeated treatment, a qualified tissue paper can be just prepared. Recycled materials are often difficult to control the quality, so it is difficult to make true high-quality products.

Some cunning paper producers usually play word games on raw wood pulp and pure wood pulp. They often add or use recycled pulp directly, and even add some inorganic materials such as talc, calcium carbonate and others into the pulp for lowering production cost. Although raw wood pulp and pure wood pulp sound the same, their concepts are completely different. Raw wood pulp paper uses new raw materials, while pure wood pulp paper may be mixed with recycled second-hand raw materials. Despite being tagged with a 100% trustworthy label, as a smart buyer, you can choose the best one definitely.

Therefore, among all the raw materials, the most healthy and comfortable is raw wood pulp. Tissue paper made from it is safe and of high quality. However, no matter which kind of roll paper can't be used instead of facial tissue, because the test standards are different. The products that meet the roll paper standard may not meet the standard of facial tissue. Therefore, roll paper is only used as toilet paper and cleaning paper.

4. Wrong viewpoint
First of all, we must say that Yellow Paper ≠ Raw Wood Pulp Paper
Real wood pulp is not pure white, but it is not yellow. The color is milky white. It is decided by wood type. Though pulp colors are not the same, the pulps made by some wood are indeed yellow.  However, it is possible that each batch of products is so uniform in color. How did the yellow paper come from? There is only one answer, and that is dying!

“I take it for granted that the pulp is yellow.” The producers catch this wrong viewpoint from the users and give the yellow paper an ambiguous name——Natural Paper, which made yellow paper get so popular. In fact, the recycled pulp can also be made into yellow when it is dyed.

If making the contrast of yellow paper and white paper, we can understand more. The yellow paper belongs to dyed paper, and white paper belongs to bleached paper. The yellow paper does avoid the use of fluorescent agents, the white paper cannot avoid during the manufacturing process.

Excessive fluorescent agents are indeed harmful to the human body, especially to children. However, as long as the amount is reasonable, it will not affect the human body. Therefore, as buying white paper, it is necessary for you to pay attention to whether the producer is formal.

White paper becomes softer during the bleaching process. The yellow paper does not. Thus, all the yellow paper is harder. Also because the yellow paper texture is too hard, it is more likely to cause the toilet to clog.

How to Choose High Quality Household Tissue Paper?

Household tissue paper is mainly used for daily hygiene. If the paper is placed in the bathroom, it is called toilet paper. Therefore, it is usually called household paper in the paper industry.

Household tissue paper is one of the indispensable paper types in people's lives. It is usually made of cotton pulp, wood pulp, straw pulp, and waste paper pulp. The good quality tissue paper is made of raw wood pulp. Its manufacturing process is similar to that of general paper, but it is required to be extremely thin and fragile. When it encounters water, it will rot and achieve environmental protection.

I. How to identify the quality of tissue paper?

1. Some tissue papers are thicker when you touch them, but the grade of these papers is lower because the sheet number of thicker papers is less in the case of the same weight. For example, D grade paper has above 270 sheets per 500 grams, while E grade paper has only 250 sheets or less. Therefore, in the case of the same weight, a thicker bag of tissue paper should be selected.

2. Because tissue paper is sold by weight, individual manufacturers may add more filling agents during the production process. The paper is thicker and harder, and has certain harm to the human body. Therefore, you should choose a softer tissue paper when purchasing.

3. The whole production process of tissue paper is completed at high temperature. If the packaging is not done in time, incompletely or improperly stored, the paper will be damp and polluted. Therefore, when selecting, you must select those products that are well-packaged and have a close production date.

4. Pay attention to the industry standard of crinkled tissue paper issued by the Ministry of Light Industry (GB2500-2000). The standard divides crinkled tissue paper into small roll paper and knife-cut paper. The technical indicators are divided into five grades, i.e. A, B, C, D and E.

II. Seven quality indicators of tissue paper
1. Appearance: the packaging should be checked first when you select tissue paper. The sealing of the product shall be neat and firm without damage. The packaging shall be printed with manufacturer name, manufacture date, product grade, standard number, sanitary standard number and other information. Secondly, looking at the paper appearance, it should be clean with no obvious dead pleats, defects, damage, hard blocks, grass gluten, pulp and other paper diseases and impurities. The paper should not have serious hair or powder loss phenomenon in use. There should be no residual printing ink in the paper.

2. Quantitative: It means that the weight or the number of paper sheets is not enough. According to relevant regulations, for a net content of 50grams to 100grams product its error is generally not more than 4.5grams; for a net content of 200grams to 300grams product, its error should not exceed 9grams.

3. Whiteness: If tissue paper is super white, it may be added an excessive amount of fluorescent bleach.

4. Water absorption: You can see the water absorption speed by the method of water dropping. The faster the speed goes, the better the absorption is.

5. Transverse tensile index: It is the toughness of the paper. You can judge it by seeing whether it is easy to break in use. Because of its long fiber length, pure wood pulp paper has high tensile strength and good toughness. It is not easy to get break.

6. Softness: It is an important indicator of tissue paper products. Good tissue paper should give people a soft and comfortable feeling.

7. Powdery dust: There is powder dust on paper. If the raw material is raw wood pulp, the dust degree is no problem. However, if the recycled paper is used as raw material and the process is not properly treated, the indicator shall be difficult to reach the standard.

III. How to choose high-quality household tissue paper?
Tissue paper can be divided into three categories: raw pulp paper, wood pulp paper, and straw pulp paper. What kind is good? I need to explain it to you.

1. The best tissue paper should contain 100% raw pulp and not add anything. The first thing is to look at the percent of raw pulp written on the bag for you. If it is 50%, 30%... then the paper should be not good.

2. If you do not want to buy such expensive paper, then you can consider wood pulp paper. The kind of tissue paper is often made of 50% wood pulp. If you want to buy 100% wood pulp paper, it is very difficult. Most of the pulp and paper mill will not use 100% wood pulp to make paper.

3. If you want to buy cheap but clean tissue paper, you can just buy 100% straw pulp paper. Although it is 100%, the paper is still relatively poor in quality. It is guaranteed that if the paper is made in a regular factory, it is absolutely hygienic. The only bad thing is that the crinkle on the paper is very thick and looks unsightly. It is best to go to the mall to buy tissue paper.

The following tips should be valued when purchasing tissue paper:
1. Packaging: Check whether the health permit number and factory address, zip code, telephone number and implementation standards are indicated on the product packaging bag.

2. Color: Because there is no additive in pure wood pulp paper, the color is natural ivory white and the texture is relatively uniform.

3. Endurance strength: Pure wood pulp paper has long fiber, large pull, good toughness and not easy to break. But the poor quality paper has irregular small holes and powder.

4. Fire test: Good tissue paper is white and gray in color after burnt, but the bad paper is black and gray.

5. Expiration date: The better napkins, facial tissues and women's supplies paper are marked with implementation standards and expiration date, but most of the bad paper is not marked.
